nik skipped happily through the sunny meadow. Butterflies fluttered around her as she searched for her favorite spot near the whispering willows.

Suddenly, nik noticed a small, brown bear sitting beneath a willow tree. He looked very sad, and nik wondered what was wrong.

“What's the matter?” nik asked softly. Barnaby sighed, “I've lost all my feelings! I don't know if I am happy or sad,” he explained woefully.

“Oh no!” exclaimed nik. “We can find them! Feelings aren't really lost; they're just hiding. We need to seek until you feel happy!”

First, they looked for happiness. They saw a group of squirrels playing tag. “Are you happy?” nik asked them curiously.

The squirrels chirped, “We are happy because it's a beautiful day and we love to play!” But Barnaby still felt… nothing. He wasn't happy.

Next, they searched for excitement near the pond. A frog was leaping for lily pads! “Do you feel excitement?” nik asked eagerly.

The frog croaked, “I feel excited because I almost caught a juicy fly!” Barnaby watched, but still felt nothing inside. He felt despondent.

nik gave Barnaby a big hug. “Sometimes,” she said, “feelings come back when you share them with a friend!” Barnaby smiled, feeling a warm glow. He felt grateful!
