Nish bounced happily in the vibrant park, his blue and yellow striped shirt bright like the sunny day. He loved watching the butterflies flutter by the big, green slide.

Suddenly, something caught his eye near a flower patch. A small, wooden bird, painted with bright blue feathers and a tiny red beak, lay gleaming in the grass. It looked very special.

Nish carefully picked up the gleaming bird. “Wow!” he whispered, turning it over in his hands. It felt smooth and warm. He imagined flying it through the sky, just like a real bird.

Just then, his friend Leo walked by, holding a colorful kite. “What’s that, Nish?” asked Leo, his eyes curious. Nish showed him the blue wooden bird.

Leo looked carefully at the wooden bird. “It’s really pretty, Nish,” he said quietly, “but it looks like someone’s favorite toy.” Nish remembered losing his special shiny rock once. He felt so sad!

“You’re right, Leo!” Nish exclaimed, a new determination shining in his eyes. “Someone might miss their special bird very much. I need to find its owner, because that’s the kind thing to do!”

Nish and Leo walked all around the park. “Did you lose a blue wooden bird?” Nish asked children playing. Everyone shook their heads. Nish began to feel a little discouraged, but he kept trying.

Then, Nish saw a little girl named Lily sitting by the big oak tree. She wasn’t playing; she looked very distraught. In her hand was a drawing of a blue wooden bird, just like the one Nish held!

Nish rushed over, holding out the wooden bird. “Is this yours?” he asked gently. Lily’s face brightened immediately! She hugged her bird tightly and gave Nish the biggest thank you. Nish felt a warm, happy flutter in his tummy. He had made someone so happy!
