Nish bounced down the sunny path, his heart humming a happy tune. Today was his first day of school! "Look, Mama, look!" he chirped, pointing to a butterfly dancing in the breeze. His wide smile shone, full of bright excitement.

The school garden bloomed with vibrant flowers and buzzing bees. Nish saw other children playing, giggling softly. He felt a tiny flutter of shyness, but his smile stayed big. Then, a peculiar glint caught his eye under a giant sunflower.

Peeking from behind the sunflower was a tiny, fuzzy Mossling, no bigger than Nish's hand. Its big, dark eyes looked lost and scared. It seemed to have dropped something shiny, a smooth, purple pebble, which rolled away near the school steps.

The Mossling trembled, trying to reach its precious pebble, but it was too shy to come out. A playful gust of wind swirled past, pushing the pebble even further, right to the edge of the school's open door. The little Mossling looked utterly distressed.

Nish watched the tiny Mossling's worried face. He knew he had to help. With a gentle smile, he slowly crouched down, making himself small. "Hello, little friend?" he whispered softly, pointing a careful finger towards the purple pebble.

The Mossling blinked its big eyes, still too shy to move. Nish understood. He knew it needed more reassurance. With careful, tiny movements, he slowly nudged the purple pebble with his finger, inching it closer to the hidden creature.

Finally, the pebble was close enough! The Mossling slowly, oh so slowly, extended a tiny tendril. It gently grasped its shiny treasure and pulled it close. A tiny, happy 'pffft!' sound escaped it. Nish giggled, a warm feeling blossoming in his chest.

Suddenly, a loud 'BRRRRING!' echoed from the school. The bell! The Mossling startled, its big eyes wide with panic. With a tiny 'pop!', it vanished quickly, almost sinking into the ground. Nish felt a little jolt of surprise and a moment of loneliness.

Nish's smile wobbled. Should he go inside? All the other children were hurrying. But his heart felt a little empty without his new friend. He took a deep breath, looked around, and very softly called out, "Hello, little friend? Where are you?"

A tiny rustle came from under a big, overturned flowerpot. Slowly, carefully, the Mossling peeked out, its eyes less scared this time. Nish's smile returned. He sat down gently on the soft grass and offered the Mossling a tiny, smooth, emerald-green leaf he found.
